2016 goals

  • Stay injury-free
  • Enjoy myself
  • Continue to improve/expand on my swimming skills

2015 goals
  • Do an Ironman
    • Met!  10/17/15.  13:01:57 (+15 hypothetical minutes for the 800m of swimming they cut the course short)
2014 goals
  • Run a marathon at a pace of less than 10:00 min/mile (would double as a PR)
    • Met!  3/30/14, Ann Arbor Marathon, 4:11:49 (9:36 pace)
  • PRs at every major distance: 5K, 10K, half marathonmarathon (I'm pretty sure I have the fitness right now to do this easily, so I just have to plan and register and complete!)
    • All PRs achieved as of 7/26/14.  Gonna go for another round of PRs at the half and full marathon distances in the fall!  
  • Focus on eating healthy and cooking at home. 
    • Doing pretty good here! 
  • Make friends and do more things (social events, camping, hiking, etc)
    • Major success.

  • Sub 4 hr full marathon

2013 goals
  • Run a relay
    • Met!  Glass City Marathon relay 4/28/13.  GLR pending in July. 
  • Volunteer at a race
    • Met!  Volunteered at Shamrocks & Shenanigans and at the Martian Marathon!
  • Set new 10K and Half-marathon PRs
  • Focus on eating healthy and cooking at home. 
    • I did get to a point of planning meals, while Jeff did the shopping and cooking for them, but since I've divorced and moved out I'm back to square one or worse.  I eat out for almost every meal of every day! 
  • 13 x 13.1 in '13
    • Foiled by injury!
2012 goals
  • Set new 5K, 10K, Half-marathon, and Marathon PRs
    • 5K 24:47.60 (11/05/2005)
      • met 12/1/12! (24:39)
    • 10K 53:13.10 (10/30/2011)
      • didn't happen, but didn't try either. 
    • HM 1:58:49 (4/01/2006)
      • no dice. 
    • M 4:35:25 (5/26/2006)
      • met 10/21/12! (4:28:41)
  • Log 1200 miles for the year (up from 1027 in 2011)
    • met 11/17/12 (1204.9 and counting.  Year total TBD!)
  • Half marathon at < 9 mins/mile
    • Didn't happen.
  • Full marathon at < 10 mins/mile
    • Didn't happen.
  • Lower my average weight from 155 to 145. 
    • Didn't happen.  I seem to be averaging about 151 these days.
2011 goals
  • Sub 8 min mile for a 5K
    • didn't make it. So sad :(  [Update: Finally got there at the end of 2012!]
  • Half-marathon at < 10 min/mile
    • met 4/30/11! (9:40 per mile)
2010 goals
  • Sub 31:00 minute 5K. (< 10 min/mile)
    • met 6/6/10! (29:51, 9:38 per mile)
  • Sub 10 min/mile for a 10K
    • met 10/3/10! (9:42 per mile)
  • Complete the 2010 Detroit Half-marathon in under 2.5 hours (~11:30 per mile or less.)
    • met 10/17/10! (2:15:43, 10:22 per mile)
  • A sub 9 min/mile for a 5K (less than 27:57)
    • met 11/13/10! (8:34 per mile)
  • Lose 30 lbs.  (from 185.5 4/21/10)
    • met 11/5/10!
